Our headquarters is in Nashville, TN, so we thought we'd write a blog focused on a fun-filled day in Nashville, TN. Whether you live here or just want to come for a weekend trip. These are my current favorite places to go on a Saturday.
I would start the day out at Loveless Cafe. The biscuits and preserves are heavenly and the ambiance is a unique blend of vintage and southern. Don't forget to take your touristy photo by the sign. "It is known for its Southern cooking, especially for its biscuits, fruit preserves, country ham, and red-eye gravy. The establishment has received acclaim from USA Today, Southern Living, Frommer's, and a number of other prominent national publications." -Wiki
Next up, right around the bend on Natchez Trace Parkway... This hidden gem just opened it's doors in November 2014 and very few people know about it. It sort of give me the "Secret Garden" effect. I stumbled across Timberland Park while scouting spots for a photoshoot. For me, beautiful scenery and a small place for my model to change is an absolute goldmine. Timberland Park was bought by the State of Tennessee from loggers back in the day. Williamson County eventually talked them into donating the property in 2001 after it was left vacant for 40+ years. Several years later after much hard work, a $849,000 beautiful cabin, park, walking trails was born. This place is absolutely stunning! The welcome center is new, but rustic with a beautiful deck and all the historic trimmings inside. Picnic tables, walking sticks and trails are provided for your neat little adventure. The best part: you own little piece of paradise for a few hours at no cost to you! Here's a pic we shot at the park.
Next up: I'd head over to 21st Avenue/Hillsboro Village area and eat lunch at SATCO, San Antonio Taco Company. There are a ton of neat little places to eat in this area, but SATCO happens to be my fav since 2003. It's a neat little Tex-mex restaurant will a huge outdoor patio filled with all sorts of college kids since there are three private schools in the near area. Don't be alarmed if you are not college-aged, me either! You will see a mix of young and old chowing down on the most amazing cheese dip known to man. I like to walk right out of SATCO and stop at Ben and Jerry's on the way to the car. There are tons of cute little shops to peruse for the next few hours. My favorite is Pangea, it's an eclectic boutique with one-of-a-kind jewelry, purses and more.
Next up, I would head to the Downtown Area, walk across the Shelby Street Bridge and have dinner at Puckett's. It's a laid-back southern feel. They always have live music and it's a cool environment. That's when I would probably head home and Netflix it, ha! Visitors: you are going to want to explore the honky-tonk bars(if you are into that.) There are lined up and down Broadway and 2nd Avenue. You can hear them from a mile away with loud live music flowing out of the open patios. This part of Nashville is made up of mostly tourists visiting for the weekend, so everyone is looking to have a good time. Uber, the ride sharing service is in Nashville and the cabs are lined up downtown. Hope you enjoy your trip!
